Il Ballo del Doge

Like every year, Antonia Sautter will present her spectacular and captivating event Il Ballo del Doge when Venice, Italy celebrates its annual Carnevale di Venezia (Venice Carnival) starting February 8 until February 25, 2020.
This amazing event is world-famous for its intriguing costumes, distinctive Venetian masks and many related entertaining activities taking place in Venice during that period, transforming the already unique city into something super magical. This year’s theme for the spectacle will be Il Gioco, l’Amore et la Follia which translates into Game, Love and Folly.
Approximately 3 million visitors are expected every year for the Carnival in Venice making this the largest event there.
The luxury event Il Ballo del Doge takes places on February 22, 2020 at the Scuola Grande della Misericordia, Venice, Italy.
This artistic spectacle includes a Grand Ball featuring a gala dinner and a gorgeous sensual show. The exclusive party is visited by Italy’s and the world’s high society. This year’s theme is a rhapsody dedicated to the Carnival of Venice - Provocation, Redemption, Miracle.

Antonia Sautter is a designer and entrepreneur of German and Italian descent known for her costumes that recreate the elegance of the past ages of Italy’s history, from the 17th century up to the 1920s. Her passion for the creative arts, costume history, textiles and ancient techniques of tailoring, accompanied by her love for artisan craftmanship has catapulted Sautter to become known as a distinguished Italian celebrity.
In addition to haute couture, she organizes luxury weddings in Venice and private events worldwide applying her distinguished style.
Her luxurious Il Ballo del Doge ball inspired me to have an important part of my screenplay Desperate Pursuit in Venice play around the Venice Carnival. This setting is ideal for the mood and storyline I set the characters in.

Bregenzer festspiele
The tosca, Turandot, Carmen AND RIGOLETTO stage sets
Bregenz, the capital of Vorarlberg is located on the eastern shores of Lake Constance also known as Bodensee in German. Every summer it is the focus of several cultural events that wow, the most famous one is the annual opera festival Bregenzer Festspiele. With its stage built into Lake Constance, this is the largest open-air theater in the world and an event that attracts audiences from around the world.
Giacomo Puccini’s operas Tosca and Turandot played on the floating stage at the festival in the 2007/2008 and 2015/2016 seasons. Mozart’s Magic Flute played in 2014 and 2017 brought Bizet’s Carmen to Bregenz followed by Verdi’s Rigoletto in 2019, which will be shown again from July 22 to August 23, 2020. Then, in 2021, prepare to be amazed when Puccini’s Madama Butterfly will premiere on this breathtaking lake stage. This world-famous stunning spectacle with dramatic stage sets amidst the backdrop of beautiful Lake Constance is attended by Austria’s high society as well as international celebrities. Even if you are not a big opera fan, these breathtaking stage sets and performances will wow you and leave a lasting impression on you.

The enchanting town of Bregenz also hosts an annual Jazz Festival taking place in June of each year at the Kornmarktplatz as well as the Bregenzer Spring dance festival between March and May.
