Charitable Donations - Give and You Shall Receive

It’s cool to give back because it helps the less fortunate and in some cases it can even be good for the environment, as is the case with donations of new or gently-worn shoes at DSW (Designer Show Warehouse).

When you donate shoes to DSW you get to select if you want membership points credited to your account or to give them to a charity. Needless to say, I always select the charity.

If you are ready to be cool and give back, here’s a link to the DSW website that explains the easy process.

By the way, you can do the same with accessories, shoes and apparel via the largest online consignment and thrift store THREDUP. Check it out here https://www.thredup.com/cleanout/donate-clothes

It’s a trifecta win. You get to “unclutter” your closets and make room for new stuff, a less fortunate person gets new clothes, shoes or accessories and you help the environment by recycling your gently-worn items. As a bonus, you will get a receipt for all donations for tax-deductible purposes. Please check with your tax advisor about how to report these charitable donations on your income tax return.

Now sit back and imagine the happy face of a less fortunate person when she or he receives a pair of shoes or a clothing item made possible by you. It’s a great feeling.

Be super cool and share this with your friends and family to get the word around.

Happy Giving Tuesday and every day!
