Serving in the U.S. Air Force as a military police officer, Mychelle Bell knows all too well about having to wear clothing that is not comfortable or stylish but is also irritable, itchy and unflattering. Having to stay in it for hours can be painful and dreadful! So, she created her business and dress line with quality, style, and comfort in mind choosing to use innovative organic plant-based fabrics that not only provide therapeutic, restorative, and anti-aging properties, she says, but also revolutionize fashion. In doing so, she also supports sustainability change that is saving our planet.

The ImageMakers & Influencer Magazine talked to Mychelle about her holistic fashion line Belle Clothing & Accessories Company Inc. and how it can change your skin’s environment.

“When you choose the right fabrics, you change the environment for your skin,” Mychelle explains. “Environments are especially important because it is our entire life support system. This is the reason why we must take care of it. Lack of care, abuse, neglect, and constant ignorance to change subjects environments to become toxic which affects the life in it to be vulnerable to disease (Dis-Ease). This speeds up aging, causes trauma and temporary dysfunctions to become permanent and leading to destruction of life.

Changing to holistic fabrics creates a healthy environment for your skin, and this allows your skin to absorb beneficial nourishment from the outside in while creating an atmosphere of safety.

“So, what is the Age Renewal Cycle?” we asked Mychelle.

“Imagine this; your body is wrapped up in a cloud of bliss. This bliss nourishes your skin with natural oils, healing, and anti-aging properties all throughout its uses. This intoxicating wear absorbs not just into your skin, but into your mind, and right down to your core. It is pushing out stress while protecting your body like a shield from harmful bacteria. This intimate environment allows you to focus on whatever tasks or productivity you have at hand. These soft surroundings give you the best of all worlds, style, comfort, beauty, and a naturally youthful glow of healthy radiant skin. This is Holistic Fashion, the wearable cream of today and beyond.

Let me share with you how to achieve the maximum benefits of Holistic Fashion by using what I call the three Cs of “The Age Renewal Cycle”: Choose, Change, and Cultivate.

Choose the Right Fabric Style

We are taught that the healthiest way to take care of ourselves is by eating plenty of fruits and vegetables for they are known to provide us with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential for our bodies’ needs. The same method that should be taken when choosing your clothing styles. Choosing natural fabrics over synthetic fabrics allows proper circulation for your skin to breathe because this is one of the many issues that synthetic fabrics lack. Synthetic fabrics are made from fossil fuels which is a limited resource that is not renewable or degradable. These fabrics are created and constructed by chemicals through-out the process of making them, so by the time they reach you, there are up to 8,000 different chemicals inside that one garment. Once it touches the skin, these chemicals are absorbed which causes foreign substances to flow through the body. Your body recognizes this and tries to protect you by showing signs to you through the acts of inflammation to the skin, irritation, itchiness, dryness. As you continue to “expose” your skin to these chemicals your body begins to work overtime in order to keep you healthy. The body releases up to a pound of toxins a day, but unfortunately due to constant exposure your body is always in work mode and is never allowed to rest. What happens when you are not allowed to rest? You begin to breakdown, and the same goes for your skin. This is just one of the ways your skin speeds up on the aging process. By choosing your fabrics like you choose your food you create the next step in the age renewal cycle.

 Change Your Skin’s Environment

When you choose holistic fabrics, you change the environment for your skin. Here are some natural fabrics and their benefits to help you get started; flax also known as linen (natural insulator and sclerotic properties), organic orange fiber (natural oils and vitamin C), ramie (resistant to bacteria, mildew, and insect attack), lotus flower fiber (ayurvedic and aromatherapy properties), sea cell also known as seaweed (antibacterial and angiogenesis properties), aloe vera fiber (antioxidants that slow the aging of skin), organic milk (amino acids and anti-bacteria), and rose petal fibers (anti UV and absorbs moisture). Changing your fabrics creates a healthy environment for your skin, and this allows your skin to absorb beneficial nourishment from the outside in while creating an atmosphere of safety. This leads to the Last C in the cycle of age renewal.

 Cultivate Virtuous Habits

Once you choose the right fabrics, it changes your environment, and this then is how a habit can be cultivated.

To cultivate in this manner is not just improving the mind (education), body (physical improvement), and soul (the sub- conscious mind being aware of the earth), but it also sends the message that you take ownership in what you take and give back to the world, how you affect it on a personal and large impactful scale, and shows the contribution toward a positive future for generations. Consistency of a habit will generate proven results that you will be able to see, feel, and manifest within yourself which will flow out into your community and world.

When you work to establish the “Age Renewal Cycle” you are now on the path to achieve this ‘cloud of bliss’.”
